M6 [Spyshots] BMW M6 Gran Coupe (Spy pics, Info & Impressions)

The BMW M6 is a high-performance version of the 6 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand from 1983 to 2019 (with a hiatus from 1990 to 2004). Introduced in the coupe body style, the M6 was also built in convertible and fastback sedan ('Gran Coupe') body styles for later generations. An M6 model was built for each of the first three generations of the 6 Series. Production of the M6 ended in 2019 and it was replaced by the BMW M8 (F91/F92/F93) in 2019. Official website: BMW M
The all-new BMW M6 Gran Coupé.
Power. Requires no violence.
Leadership. Requires no proof.
Superiority. Requires no comparison.

when everything is right, perfection is the result.

I would be even more 'right' with this rear:

I know design is subjective, but you really have to be a die hard Merc fan to not realize this is a huge kick in the balls to the CLS. Is SO much better resolved, is not even funny.

It's a joke when you see them together, as I recently did. The CLS looks like it's trying so hard, the 6 GC looks effortless. The CLS looks like an old man trying to look young in Affliction clothing, while the 6 GC looks like the cool collected chap who's just laughs at him. :D

I'm of the same opinion as you both. For me the best looking sedan was the previous QP, have to see the new QP live before judging. Now for me the best looking sedan is the GC. Sure it costs about 20 K more than its rivals (CSL, A7) and its smaller brother but it is really the best looking sedan for me. Funny thing is that very many do not see this so, even among the BMW community, for them the GC is just an other useless and overpriced BMW. I'm the person that justifies a higher pricetag when something looks good, even if it is not really that better in obejective measures. Ex.: Maserati GranTurismo, Apple iPhone 5,...

Completely agreed, as usual ;)

It just sucks it's such a boat.... :(

But yeah, looks pretty stunning. The clay model in Levi's pic even more so :)

Well, is supposed to be a big car. 850's and the original 6 series weren't small cars, either.
Is so beautiful, almost as the classic 850

I think this is a worthy substitute of the CS that BMW canceled. Yet Scott claims it may come in 2016 as a CF luxury-super-sports-sedan.

^ I think that car will suffer the same fate as the original CS. The economy is in an even worse shape now...

Repulsive, that paint exposed panel gap. Incredible that BMW gets away with putting this on such a high (over) priced (beautiful) car. I could never drive the car like that after paying all that money. Reminds me of a 70's American Pickup truck in fit/finish.

Oh come one, save this crap for the regular Gran Coupe thread.

Best regards,
south

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
