F-Type [Renders] 2020 Jaguar F-Type

The Jaguar F-Type (X152) is a series of two-door, two-seater sports cars manufactured by British car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover under their Jaguar Cars marque from 2013 to 2024. The car's JLR D6a platform is based on a shortened version of the XK's platform. It is the so-called "spiritual successor" to the E-Type.
Reverse lights low on the rear bumper instead of integrated into the actual tail lights?

Ding ding ding, we got a winner! :)

If I was a lead designer or a CEO of a car company, I'd send out a memo banning that. Anyone who even proposes that in their design proposal, I'd can their arse so fast. No prisoners.

Me, I never liked the round indentation on the rearlights. I've always thought they would look better without. And now they're rectangular.. I still think them unneccesary.

I am ambivalent about it, but I am preferring the squared off look. But eventually I'll get tired of it. It's nice design touch, but nothing that's really iconic.

Exterior: I've always liked the F-Type-and the facelift hasn't diminished my opinion.

Interior: Acceptable. Nothing more, nothing less.

My problem with major facelifts is that usually a corporate face takes over and fluidity of the original design goes away.
You hit it on the nail. Although the new low and wide front is beautiful, it's generic and looks like a squashed and widened XE nose.

It's safe but lacks any intrigue or sex appeal.

It would please me to see a very similar frontend on the upcoming XJ successor.

It’s a pretty car no doubt about it but I prefer the older cars looks. I really thought that the R would get the BMW sourced 4.4 V8 ....the 5.0 V8 will no doubt sound demonic!

The exhaust note of jaguar's 6 and 8 cylinder engines trumps equivalent German engines.

Nothing from Jaguar trumps the exhaust note of a Porsche flat six.
The flat six sounds raspy and race car like, while the exhaust note of Jaguar’s V6 and V8 is closer to Maserati engines in character.

One could argue that the flat six sounds more authentic while the Jag engines are the equivalent of fake but highly convincing and entertaining orgasms. I like both.

I like this FL, it makes the front of the car seem wider and flatter and also brings it in line with the styling of other Jag models. Maybe the changes are a little predictable and make the car seem less exciting, but it is still a fantastic looking car, especially the rear styling looks ace.

A colleague collected a year old F type AWD R a couple of weeks ago in British Racing Green. Lovely looking thing. Much prefer it to this whatever you want to call it.

They've changed the front which was the best thing about the car and hardly changed the rear which for me was what I liked least. And interior, just what have they changed precisely?

And this is the second face-lift in 6 years? Isn't it time for something more radical?

I think the pre-facelift looks better having mulled over it for a few days.

Sadly, the F-Type is a bit of an old dog. Cosmetic differerences aside, it's unlikely that an Ingenium in-line six will fit in that engine bay and unreasonable to expect a 50 kg drop in weight per model. So, whlist the F-Type mid-cycle revision might emerge all fresh-faced, under the skin there's hardly any reinvigoration at all. As a result, the F-Type finds itself under considerable pressure from above and below its price range. You'd have to be a pretty loyal Jag follower to choose the F-Type over its direct contemporaries.

I also prefer the pre FL, that was definitely a more prettier car, although I still think the F Type is one of the best looking coupes on the market in its price sector. The interior is where they should have focused more attention to. They should have included the new wheel and touch HVAC controls from the XE and I Pace, that would have improved the quality perception more.

Cannot decide on this new facelift version. It's a gorgeous looking car, but the previous one was really a gem, one of the best looking cars...

Tough comment but it's hard to argue against it when hothatches such as the Golf R, M135i and A35 are faster and signifigantly cheaper than a 4 pot F-Type. However the F-Type is engaging enough and the looks will justifies the price for those who want a break from German cars.
