M6 [Spyshots] BMW M6 F12/F13 (Spy pics, Info & Impressions)

The BMW M6 is a high-performance version of the 6 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand from 1983 to 2019 (with a hiatus from 1990 to 2004). Introduced in the coupe body style, the M6 was also built in convertible and fastback sedan ('Gran Coupe') body styles for later generations. An M6 model was built for each of the first three generations of the 6 Series. Production of the M6 ended in 2019 and it was replaced by the BMW M8 (F91/F92/F93) in 2019. Official website: BMW M
It was captured in an enclosed area from behind a fence. I didn't' post those pics which show it because they lack clarity of the ones I did post.

Is the SL debuting @ Detroit? I read that it will be unveiled at the Mercedes-Benz Pre-Show , like the E-Klasse and C-Klasse facelift previously but not be displayed on the show floor until Geneva in March?

The M6 Cabrio should be able to hold it's own. But for the Gran Coupe you have to wait till Geneva.

If if the SL will be there, besides the technology, I don't think BMW should have any issues. The M6 is quite distinct from the SL. The only car that would be cause for concern is if the SL AMG is there, which is a big ass NO.

I´ve darkened the blinkers of this render, that seems to be the most accurate. I think the result is very positive.

^That looks great..
But BMW will never make it look that good..they will **** something up:)

Its the new thing with the germans today..make a perfect car.. and boom add something that ***** it up:D

Its like having sex ..and instead of finishing..laying off a fart in the end.:eusa_doh:

In my book, that´s called automotive perfection. Surely, BMW won´t darken the blinkers, as they should be done with every 6er. The front bumper shouldn´t differ too much from this if they know what they should do.

Anyway, if I ever own a 6er, first thing I´d do is darken the blinkers. As the Gran Coupe Concept.

Best post !

If best means worst, childish and rather nasty, the sure :)

SKY: I don't think the GC Concept even had blinkers? Just an empty space? Either way, much better!! I so want to M6 to have it like that :(

And regarding the leaked shots of the rear, this is what I had to say about it yesterday:

The problem with the M6, again, is that there is a licence plate on the place where there should be some sort of diffusor. This is what makes the M5 always look better from the back, it has the licence plate in the boot and not in the bumper and that is just less cluttered.
And the M6 has this problem because it has a quad exhaust. The licence plate looks good enough in place on a 650i or 640i...

Let me move the post to the SL thread ..cause its valid there to..and see you 2 have no opinion on it.. or maybe even enjoy it;)

PS
I guess a play on words with sweaty Bollocks is classy;)

haha please!!!

True. I still don´t share the idea of the blinkers there, if they are not better hidden. I like a lot the shape of the 6er front lights without the blinkers part.

Yeah, looking at some high-res photos of the 6er GC Concept, it seems as though the car didn't have any blinkers. That empty area below the headlights simply had a black plastic piece rather than being open like I had thought.

These two photos show it clearly:

This leads me to believe they had no plans to ever leave that area empty/open, but rather that the blinkers were always destined to go there (which yeah makes sense since the specs for the parts of the production 6er would have been signed-off before the 6GC Concept was created). I'm doubtful we'll see the M6 with darkened blinkers. I don't think we've ever seen M modify the lighting units of any car, and with the M6 being a low-volume M car, it wouldn't be worth the cost or effort. It can easily be created with an aftermarket tinting film...but yeah, it would be nice if BMW/M paid that little extra attention to detail for the exterior. :)

My view on the M6 Gran Coupe.

Sorry if this was posted in the wrong thread..

That does look good, but I highly doubt the front bumper will be a copy->paste job of the M5's.

I think this photo below gives a very clear idea of how the front bumper and its intakes will be shaped.

From the looks of things it'll keep in line with the new M tradition of removing the fog lights. I guess even the 6er's thinner LED foggies couldn't escape the chopping block!

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
